Belem dia quinto

Today our class was cancelled in the morning because our professor got robbed last night. Apparently, he was in a car with two friends and as they stopped at a stop light three men got in their vehicle and robbed them gunpoint. I was so glad that he was okay because that must be a very scary and traumatizing experience.

At around 2 p.m. we all went to lunch and to watch the game at some buffet in the city. Isabella and Lucas our brazilian friends also came with us. They are the best. We are all so glad and grateful we met them because without them this trip would not have been the same. They both speak english and they help us with the language. For example they speak both languages at times and they help us communicate with others when ordering food or when asking questions.

At the restaurant we watched the Mexico and South Africa game. The food was amazing like always.

After the restaurant Raul dropped me, Karissa and Tracy off across the street at some marketplace where they sell different kinds of items such as CD's, movies, meat, fish, clothes and even hand made furniture. The others went to the shopping mall with Lucas and Isabella. At the marketplace I decided to buy a CD in portuguese. The man who sold it to me was very enthusiastic about us being in Belem. I'm guessing they don't see many tourists. So he brought out a map of Belem and started telling us about Belem and the different activities we should do while in Belem. We went back to the hotel and i listened to my CD, which was amazing.

At night, we went to Yamada to eat and also to buy food because we were going to make sandwiches for our saturday field trip with CESUPA the organization that Lucas is in.
After we came back from Yamada we made our sandwiches in Patrick's room, drank wine, ate food and just talked about our life.
It was a good night. Different since we decided to stay in but definitely very interesting and fun.
